Name:Ahkaten of the Thunder (Irel Ahkaten)
Birthdate:Mar 26
Legend says that the storm dragons of the kingdom of Torrel are descended from the ancient gods themselves, great dragons who forged dragon fire into lightning and the smoke that billowed from their nostrils into the first storm clouds. So moved were they by the beauty of their creation, they wept, and from their tears came the first life giving rain.

To this day, it is the storm dragons who maintain that delicate balance. In regions of the dragon realms where poor weather threatens to destroy villages and large populations, those blessed with the Breath of the Gods, a unique form of dragon fire that can seed clouds and cover the sun travel to ensure that crops will grow and seasons will shift so that life may flourish where it would otherwise die out. These vagabonds travel the realms for many months out of the year before returning to the mountain kingdom of Torrel to rest, where another contingent stands ready to complete the next live giving journey into the skies of the dragon realms.

Ahkaten of the Thunder, king of Torrel and the last of the Sky Makers, is the oldest confirmed living dragon. Only four generations removed from the dragon tribe believed to be the progenitors of the storm dragons, he does not hide who he is. His rule over the kingdom of Torrel is absolute, despite often escorting contingents of storm dragons across the kingdoms. For dozens of generations of dragon kind, he has employed human stewards to rule in his stead, the wisest of the mortal blood and by his judgment the most empathetic.

Given his long durations away from his throne, only his people and those rare few as ancient as he is know his face on sight. As such, he has freedom to move about the realms in relative anonymity. This allows him greater means to enjoy the life of a commoner and to learn more about the peoples of the realm, knowledge he brings back to his kingdom to further educate his subjects in the customs and histories of other lands. It is for this reason that the denizens of Torrel are renown as scholars and sages, keepers of knowledge that wold otherwise be forgotten if not for the wandering king who has, for most of remembered history, traversed the world unseen to better learn about his fellow dragons.
